DFW Pediatric Endocrinology Cares

At DFW Pediatric Endocrinology we are dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized pediatric endocrine care for children and adolescents in the Dallas- Fort Worth metroplex.

In the current context of medical care, finding availability with a pediatric endocrinologist who has enough time to devote to their patients is becoming increasingly difficult.

As a parent and endocrine patient herself, Dr. Pamfil understands that doctor visits are often stressful for both patients and their families, and even more so in the pediatric population. Children are not smaller adults and they require tailored endocrine care, not just from a medical perspective, but also from a psychological one.

Dr. Pamfil is therefore committed to bring back the traditional way of practicing medicine, where one should never feel rushed or unheard, and patients should never leave her office without all of their concerns and questions being addressed.

Using a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care , we offer specialized endocrine medical expertise tailored to your child needs, while prioritizing preventive care, wellness education and lifestyle changes, and empowering parents and children along the way.

We address a multitude of pediatric endocrine disorders including: growth, puberty, thyroid and menstrual conditions and have a personalized approach to health and wellness. We see patients from infancy to adolescence.

In our clinic, you will find a warm welcoming environment where compassionate, individualized, unrushed and evidence-based pediatric endocrine care is at the heart of everything we do.

Growth concerns

Growth disorders are conditions that can prevent children from growing at a normal rate. Parents or
pediatricians may be concerned that children are not growing enough or are growing too fast. A
multitude of factors can affect growth, from: family genetics, to genetic syndromes, hormonal
imbalances, chronic diseases, medications or nutrition deficit/excess.

Early puberty concern dfw-pediatric-endocrinology-dr-anca-pamfil

Early Puberty Concerns

Early puberty or precocious puberty is the process  during which changes transforming a child’s body into an adult (puberty) occur at an earlier age than expected for the child’s specific sex. This condition is more common in girls than in boys. Dr. Pamfil can help evaluate for this sensitive concern in a compassionate and age-appropriate manner.

Delayed Puberty dfw-pediatric-endocrinology-dr-anca-pamfil

Delayed Puberty

Delayed puberty occurs when children do not start to develop secondary sex characteristics at the
expected age of onset of puberty for their specific sex. The pubertal process is genetically regulated, and children are usually expected to progress thru puberty in the same time frame as their parents. There are many risk factors and causes for delayed puberty and our pediatric endocrine specialist is available to help address your concerns.

Thyroid disorder dfw-pediatric-endocrinology-dr-anca-pamfil

Thyroid Disorders

Thyroid disorders occur when the thyroid gland does not produce enough or produces too much thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones are important to regulate the body’s metabolism, heart rate, energy level and in children, they are extremely important as both deficit and excess of thyroid hormones can affect growth. Dr. Pamfil manages all forms of thyroid disease, including congenital hypothyroidism.

Weight Concerns Including Medically Supervised Weight Management dfw-pediatric-endocrinology-dr-anca-pamfil

Weight Concerns Including Medically Supervised Weight Management

One of the biggest challenges in pediatrics when talking about weight, is knowing what is normal for the child’s specific age, height and gender. Increased weight gain is becoming a health concern in both children and in adults and it is important to address this topic in a sensitive, age-appropriate manner.
